Today we’re going to present you with an important question that has an easy answer. Is it difficult to live a healthy lifestyle? We’re not talking about extreme levels of fitness here. No one is expecting you to become the next heavyweight champion of the world. Rather we’re just talking about keeping a natural level of fitness and staying in good health. It may come as a shock to learn that this isn’t that difficult. It’s certainly not as hard as many people make it out to be. Indeed, it’s true to say that a simple routine could easily put you in good stead for great health and a long life. It all starts when you wake up in the morning.

Nutrients, Vitamins, and Detox

When you wake up in the morning after what was hopefully a long, good night’s rest, you need to do a few things. First, you need to take a few vitamins and minerals. This is particularly important if you think you won’t get them through the day naturally. It’s a great idea if you don’t tend to eat a lot, or you skip meals. While your diet might not be perfect, your body still gets the minerals and vitamins that you need. If you take these with breakfast, you’re already off to a great start.

You might also want to think about drinking something that acts as a natural detox. This could be something as simple and easy as a glass of lemon water. You’d be amazed by the natural benefits that this drink has on the body. You can find out lemon water benefits here. But the main thing to take away is that a simple drink like this is just what the doctor ordered in the morning.

Aside from that, you should be eating a good, full-sized breakfast. People who want to lose weight tend to think skipping breakfast is a good idea, but we can tell you with absolute certainty that it isn’t. If you want to lose weight, the best way to do it is to get your metabolism working. Guess how you jumpstart your metabolism? That’s right, with a good old bowl of cereal and maybe a glass of juice. We’re off to a great start living a healthy day, and it’s not even nine o clock!

Exercise and Stress

The next issues that we want to think about are exercise and stress. Before you run away, we’re not about to suggest you head to the gym every day. The fact is, you don’t need to if you can incorporate exercise naturally into your life. An example of this might be walking to work rather than catching the bus. Or, how about a morning cycle. That will help you avoid the stressful situation of morning traffic. Programs like Total Shape can provide tools that can help you become fit too. Once you start to think about it, we’re sure you’ll find there are plenty of different ways to get exercise into your daily routine. But if you can’t, not to worry. Just make sure once you get home from work, you do head out for light evening stroll. Or, maybe even go out in your lunch hour. A short walk each day will do you a world of good. It might even have a more positive effect than pumping iron at the gym.

An alternate possibility is to get your exercise routine out of the way early in the day before breakfast. A few simple exercises like pushups and situps are all that it takes. A few sets will take at most half an hour and after that, you’ll have completed enough exercise for the day.

Of course, exercise has another benefit. It reduces the level of stress that we might feel on a daily basis. If you constantly feel stressed and over-challenged, exercise might be the key. But you might also want to think about other forms of reducing stress in your life. For instance, a good massage therapy has been shown to work wonders for stress levels. If you can, you should try and get a massage at least once a month. You can do this by making an appointment at a local clinic. Set up a regular schedule and you’ll soon find that stress is gone in no time.

Fatty Foods and Sugary Drinks

We all have our own way of finding enough energy to get through a busy work day. That might be eating a morning chocolate bar, buying some junk food at lunch, or drinking a few too many coffees. Unfortunately, all of these things are bad for you. While they will provide you with the energy rush you need, if you’re doing this every day it’s damaging your body. So what should you replace these pick me ups with? A nice, yummy protein shake could do the trick. If you drink one per day, it will work a treat and should easily get you through the day. Or, how about a fruit smoothie. With the right minerals and vitamins, that smoothie will make you feel completely replenished. You’ll be able to get through that work day with no trouble at all.

Stimulation and a Good Rest

We finish off the day where we began, in the home. When you get home, you need to make sure you’re eating a good, full meal. Do try to avoid ready meals, simply due to the negative impact they can have on your body, and try to mix it up. Don’t eat the same meal every night and don’t feel that you always need to finish off with a dessert. Once you’ve had your evening meal, find something to stimulate your mind. This could be a good book or perhaps completing some writing. Try to avoid binging a show on Netflix or going online every night. Remember your mental health is just as important as your physical fitness. You need to be doing everything you can to keep your brain active until you finally sleep.

When you do hit the hay make sure you’re not going too late. At a minimum, you need a good seven hours of sleep each night. If you get that you’ll be ready for any challenges life presents you with the next day.

You see, staying healthy is easy. You don’t have to be a gym god or a fitness buff. You just need to live right and live well.
